To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end WWII, a herd of large horse sculptures will make a brief appearance (until May 10) in front of the Gate where Hitler and his Nazi buddies used to pose for photo-ops. These 20 horses echo the 4 other existing horse sculptures on top of the Gate (which presumably Herr Fuhrer approved of, as being suitably heroic & dangerous).
After 7 short days in Berlin, the 20 temporary horses will canter off to Venice and other cities around the world, on some sort of world tour.
The large horse sculptures are actually titled “Lapidarium”, and were created by Mexican artist Gustavo Aceves on the theme of migration.
