Optical CGI art..in public space

Will night-time CGI become a new form of digital landscaping? “Opti-tecture” instead of architecture, that is , making ugly buildings and warehouses look beautiful without actually changing any bricks or mortar!  Check out the link below for an amazing display of computer-generated images on the front of a large building in Berlin.  I wonder how feasible it would be to generate this sort of display on more public buildings after hours?! Of course, when the clock strikes midnight and the sun rises, all of the buildings would turn back into pumpkins during the daylight hours…

  1. Great site you have here but I was wanting to know if you knew of any discussion boards that cover the same topics discussed in this article? I’d really like to be a part of community where I can get feed-back from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Kudos!

  2. I am not aware of any discussion boards that address CGI art in public places. You may wish to check out kinetic artworks by Israeli artist Yaakov Agam — who is a pioneer of op art. He has constructed interesting illuminated fountains in Tel Aviv (made of fire and water) and Paris (La défense), as well as large colorful 3d architectural works (facade of large apartment building in Miami).

  3. Awesome writing style!
