“Surrender Dorothy!” — the Wicked Witch of the West

Aha! I've got you now my pretty!

So it seems the WWoW was one of the first to use skywriting, as it appeared in the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie. Who knew? Wouldn’t it be fun to see this slogan in sky-writing over some large city? If it were possible, I would gladly chip in to see such a contemporary example of fine (graffiti) art in public places.

…and it seems the WWoW has also made a recent appearance in DC as well…

Perhaps the USAF could volunteer a drone for an afternoon of sky-writing over NYC. Maybe that would somehow decrease the post-911 paranoia about imminent terrorist threats? Can we just go about our daily lives again, without the State’s intrusion into personal privacy by the anti-terrorism boys in the name of “public safety”?!
